In Christ Alone

Yes, there are several songs out there with such amazing truth and that the power of God flows mightily through, such songs as "Word of God Speak" by Mercyme or "You Are I Am" by Darrell Evans or "Mighty To Save", "The Stand", "From The Inside Out", and "To The Ends Of The Earth" all by Hillsong. However, there is one song that is so basic and powerful that, no matter how often the afore mentioned songs make me tear up, this one I can never get through without it touching my heart so much I practically start balling my eyes out. So foundationally basic and true, and very, VERY powerful. The first and last verses, especially hit right to my heart, because of things I have gone through in my life.

"In Christ Alone"

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light my strength my song
This Cornerstone, this solid Ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled when strivings cease!
My Comforter my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone! - who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This Gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied -
For every sin on Him was laid:
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine -
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till he returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand!

This is the song I am going to place at the end of this post (where I normally put a song), and I just want to invite all my friends, and any others who view this page, to not only listen to it but to sing it out in worship straight from your heart. Let's spend some time worshiping God together, right now, praising Him for all His power and great love for us. As He gave His life for us, let us worship Him with ours. Let us lavish our love on Him.
